Pet Therapy

Pet Therapy

At Paradise Villa we have activities that focus on engagement for our residents, enriching their daily lives.

These programs are incorporated on a daily basis and they help support our resident’s life enrichment and well being.
One of these programs is called Cookies for Sweet Pea–Who is Sweet Pea? Why does she get cookies made for her?

Senior care experts agree that seniors who interact with animals feel less depressed and isolated and this is an important fact of that we take seriously our elderly residents. Isolation is becoming an increasingly common issue, with one in five Americans reporting they feel lonely. Seniors are especially vulnerable to these feelings of loneliness. In fact, 43 percent say they experience loneliness regularly. Studies have shown that regular interaction with animals can help to reduce feelings of isolation, loneliness and depression.

Enter Sweet Pea! Sweet Pea is our Pet Therapy friend who visits every other Tuesday and she will be turning 14 this August!!! The residents love visiting with Sweet Pea and want to show her how much they look forward to seeing her and that she is truly part of our family.

At Paradise Villa we believe that “A Simple Act of Caring Creates an Endless Ripple”.
